This policy describes how personal information is processed on monchezmoi.cc, the Google services used and the choices available to you. It applies to browsing the website and to messages you send us.

Website operation and hosting

The website is hosted by Hostinger, which provides the infrastructure needed to publish and operate it.

Your browser necessarily sends an IP address and technical information to the server to retrieve pages and images. The hosting provider and infrastructure providers may retain access and error logs containing the IP address, date and time, requested resource address, response status, transfer volume, reported browser and operating system, and referring page when the browser sends it.

This data is used to deliver the website, diagnose errors, detect abuse and protect the infrastructure. It may be processed even if you refuse analytics and advertising personalization. This does not authorize the use of your data for advertising. Storing your cookie choice is also necessary to respect that choice.

Your consent and choices

On the standard version, none of our Google Analytics, Tag Manager or AdSense services load before you make a choice. “Accept all” allows analytics and advertising personalization. “Settings” lets you choose these options separately; they are disabled when settings are first displayed and are enabled only after you confirm your choice. “Reject all” disables Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google AdSense. Articles remain accessible in all cases.

You can withdraw or change consent at any time using “Manage cookies” at the bottom of each standard page. Withdrawal reloads the page to stop the relevant services and apply the selected advertising mode. It does not undo processing that occurred before withdrawal. Our website can remove accessible Google cookies, but cannot directly delete cookies belonging to other domains; you can delete those in your browser.

Your choice, its version and its date are stored locally in your browser under the key “mcm-consent” for up to 180 days. We ask again when it expires, when storage is cleared or when consent information changes. If the browser blocks this storage, you may be asked again on the next page.

Logo animation and visual preferences

If you allow visual preferences, we store the day the logo animation played in your browser’s local storage to limit it to once a day according to your device’s date. This information is not sent to a server. Without this consent, or if storage is unavailable, the standard logo remains visible. The stored day is replaced at the next permitted playback and deleted when you withdraw this consent in “Manage cookies”. This choice is independent of analytics and advertising.

Google Analytics and the Google tag

With your analytics consent, Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, uses the Google tag and cookies such as “_ga” to produce statistics about pages viewed, interactions, traffic sources and general browser and device characteristics. An IP address is transmitted when communicating with Google; according to Google’s documentation, GA4 does not log or store individual IP addresses. These statistics help us understand website traffic and improve content.

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager organizes tag loading. On this website, its container loads only after you accept both analytics and advertising personalization. Loading it involves a connection to Google’s servers and the transmission of technical information, including your IP address and browser information. It does not replace your consent choice; the purposes of the services it loads are described in this policy.

Google AdSense, partners and personalized advertising

After your choice, Google AdSense may display ads on the website, including in the event of refusal. With your consent to advertising personalization, these ads may be tailored to your interests. Google and third-party providers may use cookies and advertising identifiers, browser and device information, pages viewed and your interactions with ads. This information is used to deliver ads, measure their effectiveness, limit repetition and prevent fraud.

Advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads based on your visits to this website and other websites. Other advertising networks involved in delivery may also use cookies and process data under their own policies.

You can refuse advertising personalization on our website, turn off Google personalization in My Ad Center or consult the choices offered by participating providers through AdChoices Canada. Turning off personalization only at Google does not necessarily disable all advertising measurement cookies. On our website, refusing advertising prevents AdSense from loading. When you allow advertising, the Google message applicable to your region collects detailed choices; our local consent does not replace that message. AMP versions

AMP versions do not load our Google Analytics, Tag Manager or AdSense tags. They use the AMP technical library distributed by a third-party server; downloading it transmits the information needed for the connection, including your IP address and browser information. Technical hosting logs still apply.

Messages and requests

If you write to us, we process your email address, your name if provided, the message and attachments to respond and follow up on your request. Email providers may also process this information to deliver and secure communications. Please limit the information you send to what is necessary.

Recipients and processing outside Quebec or Canada

Depending on the service used and your choices, data may be processed by the people responsible for the website, the hosting provider and its technical providers, email providers, Google and its advertising partners. Disclosure may also be necessary to meet a legal obligation.

These providers may process data outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States or other countries where they have infrastructure. Applicable laws may differ and allow access by certain authorities. Transfers of information under our control must be governed in accordance with applicable requirements.

Retention and security

The cookie choice expires after 180 days. Messages and technical data are retained for as long as necessary to handle requests, operate and secure the website, and meet applicable legal obligations. Log and backup retention periods depend on the hosting provider’s configuration and commitments; Google data retention depends on service settings and Google’s policies. Safeguards must be appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and restrict access to people and providers who need it. No Internet transmission or storage can be guaranteed risk-free.

Access, correction, withdrawal and complaints

Depending on applicable laws, you may request access to your information, correction, withdrawal of consent and, where legal conditions are met, deletion or a copy in a usable format. Send your request to info@monchezmoi.cc. Proportionate identity verification may be needed; we respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any restrictions.

For complaints, contact our responsible person first. You can also seek information from the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, according to their jurisdiction.

Changes

We update this policy when practices or services change. A significant change to optional purposes leads to a new consent request.
